Mahogany wood cabinet, linear inlaid brass ornamentation, mother-of-pearl square marquetry, patinated brass dial with Arabic numerals. Anchor escapement with sound spiral chime on the half hour.

J. Link Co. in Schwenningen was an industrial manufacturer of table and wall clocks. Like at other business-oriented manufacturers, the style of the clocks produced at J. Link Co.’s assembly lines responded to consumer tastes and interests. In this case, the form and outline of the case, the simple linear decoration, and the styling of the numbers on the dial correspond to the stylistic principles of the late Jugendstil.
